Chester Mystery Plays hopes to share the Mystery

Vonlunteers are being recruited to help create a “living” collection of records, memories and photos of the Chester Mystery Plays  since 1951.

The company has received funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund for the “Sharing the Mystery” project, to create an archive of the plays in the modern era. Organisers behind the project want to use it as an archive to record and conserve the plays, which were first performed in the 14th century.

Training will be given to all those participating in the project through University of Chester and the Cheshire Record Office on archive development and conservation, and from the Oral History Society on interviewing techniques.
