Manchester Refugee Support Network (MRSN) is looking for Project Manager (Heritage Project)

21 hours per week (3 days), Fixed term contract to 31st July 2016

Salary: Equivalent to JNC SCP 32-34 £27,924 – £ 29,558 pro rata (actual £16,754 – £17,735)

Starting salary is dependent on experience

 

MRSN is a grass-roots charity, run by refugees for refugees. We have received funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to develop an archive of our history to mark our 20th anniversary year. This archive will be preserved and exhibited at Manchester Central Library, where it will be accessible to the public in order to increase understanding of Manchester’s refugee communities and their contributions to Mancunian and UK history and culture.

We are looking for a skilled project manager to deliver this exciting project which will result in high quality digital, audio and hard copy records being deposited with the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre and will culminate in the launch of a permanent exhibition at Manchester Central Library and a touring exhibition in community locations across the City during Refugee Week 2016.

The successful candidate will need:

  • Detailed knowledge of project management methodology and proven experience of managing and delivering successful projects
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate others to deliver high quality work
  • Good financial management and reporting skills
  • Skills to effectively engage and involve refugee community groups and individuals in the development, management and delivery of all aspects of the project
  • Understanding of the needs of refugees and those seeking asylum in the UK
