Invitation to tender – freelance oral history facilitator

Project:  ‘Moorlands: People, Places, Stories’ is an exciting new project that aims to tell the story of Upper Nidderdale’s moorland through the stories and reminisces of the people who live, work and visit there, both now and in the past. The project will bring together a group of volunteers to research moorland history and organise oral history recordings. The information will subsequently be brought together on the Upper Nidderdale Landscape Partnership’s website ( and in a booklet.

The project is launching at an open meeting on Saturday 16th April, 10:30–12:30, in Pateley Bridge Council Chamber (HG3 5LE). It is envisaged that the training sessions will start shortly after the launch.

The project is one of a number of initiatives run by the Upper Nidderdale Landscape Partnership Scheme, a four year programme running until Summer 2018; funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and managed by Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Opportunity: The Landscape Partnership is looking to appoint a freelance oral history facilitator to provide training and, working alongside the Historic Nidderdale Project Officer, support to the project volunteers. Some evening and weekend working may be required as well as the ability to travel around Nidderdale.

Application: Please send a CV and covering letter setting out your relevant experience, availability, day rate, and references.

Submission deadline: 12 noon, 8th February 2016
