Geotourist is a digital navigation audio guide to help you learn about the world around you as described by local experts and organisations.

Have you ever walked past a beautiful sculpture or interesting building and wondered what it was or what the artist or designer’s inspiration or story behind the place is?
Or have you ever visited a new area for only a short time wanted to ensure you got to see all the highlights confidently?

Geotourist enables you to connect with all of these stories and more through a simple to use single free app. We have created a way to capture these spoken moments and connect them to places allowing a new immersive way of preserving knowledge in the context of location.

Physical places can now speak for themselves and reveal their stories to people as they walk by.

Be taken through interesting journeys and see the unseen as described by some of the most knowledgeable and popular figures and institutions.

Our platform and app allows users to both access and upload location-activated audio to help both navigate and inform as you travel and walk around places of interest here and across the world.

We are in the process of building a universal audio map of the world populated by commentaries documenting the constant changing face of our landscape as told by the people who know it best. Your world, by you.

We are currently working with many well-known organisations including, Historic England and The Open University. We have walks from Scotland produced and narrated by BBC presenter and historian, Neil Oliver through to the South of the country in Battle featuring walks narrated by Bafta, BBC and Game of Thrones actor, Anton Lesser.
We are working with charities, councils, universities, tourism boards and professional institutions, attractions as well as local experts both here and around the world.

We are inviting readers of The Oral History Noticeboard to have exclusive open access to our platform and explore using it for their creative projects where they can transform the audio captured and really bring it to life in a much more accessible way. Simply register at www.geotourist.com and begin bringing your stories to life straight away and download the app on iPhone or Android.
