Lancaster  University wish to appoint an experienced and skilled copy-typist.
You will have excellent word-processing skills and be able to type accurately at 50wpm.  You will also need to be able to work without close supervision.

The Regional Heritage Centre has received donations from a variety of funders to digitise the Elizabeth Roberts Working Class Oral History Archive (held by the Regional Heritage Centre, in the History Department at Lancaster University). You will use your excellent word-processing and typing skills on a project which aims to make available in digital form hundreds of transcripts of interviews carried out in the 1980s that form the core of the archive.  The project will allow the public to access, via a dedicated website, a wealth of important material about the lives of ordinary people in Preston, Barrow and Lancaster from the late nineteenth century through to the mid twentieth century.  You will be responsible for copy-typing interview transcripts which will then be coded so that they can be accessed and searched via the website.
